ABOUT THE ADMISSION PROCEDURE


Admission

I. ELIGIBILITY

HSSLC (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) with 45% marks from any recognized board

Both male and female unmarried candidates are eligible.

Age at the time of entrance shall be 17 years as on 31st December.

Candidates from State Open School recognized by State Government (IGNOU) and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government are also eligible.

Reservation:

a) Disablility (As per INC guideline)

b) BPL/EDG: Below Poverty Line/Economically Disadvantaged Group will include all those whose total family (both parents and other earning members of the family) income does not exceed Rs. 27,000/- per annum as per Central Government of India BPL Guidelines. The Synod Hospital Board will assess and decide Economically Disadvantage Status of the candidates in considering their respective supporting documents like BPL Cards and Income Certificate issued by the competent Authority, the decission of the Board shall be final. If after a candidate has been selected, it is found that the Income Certificates are false, this will entail disciplinary action to be taken against the candidate which may include payment of all expenditure inccured upon the candidates and College fees for the full course of B.Sc Nursing Programme and the candidates can also be expelled from the Institution. Out of 30 seats, 2 seats will be reserved for EDG. If these 2 seats are not filled up by EDG, vacant seats will be alloted to General Candidates, EDG are exempted from paying course fec. They will have one (1) year Service Obligation at Synod Hospital, Durtlang, Aizawl, Mizoram after completion of Intern Period. They will be given Renumeration as decided by the Synod Hospital Board and College Managing Committee.

c) Reservation shall be allocated time to time as per Notification of Government between the respective States and other Northeastern States.

Candidates should be Psychologically and medically fit. (Thorough Medical check-up will be conducted after final selection result is declared, before admission into the course).

Candidate should be a full member of his/her respective church. (If Christian) Selection of candidates for personal interview will be based on the marks scored in the written examination. Entrance Test shall comprise of:

a) Aptitute in Nursing

b) Physics

c) Chemistry

d) Biology

e) English

f) General Knowledge

After a Preliminary Selection based on the Marks of the qualifying examination, a limited number of applicants will be called for an interview. Being called for the interview does not mean being selected.
