ABOUT THE laboratories

The College of Nursing, Synod Hospital, Durtlang, located in Aizawl, is a well-established nursing institution affiliated with Synod Hospital, one of the oldest mission hospitals in Northeast India. The college offers a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Nursing program and is committed to producing skilled, compassionate, and ethically grounded nursing professionals through a balanced combination of academic learning and clinical practice.

Laboratories and Practical Training

The college is equipped with specialized laboratories that facilitate hands-on learning in key areas of nursing education:

Child Health (Pediatric) Laboratory
Provides training in infant and child care, including growth monitoring, immunization practices, and management of common pediatric conditions using models and simulation techniques.

OBG & Gynecology Laboratory
Focuses on maternal and women’s health, covering antenatal and postnatal care, normal and high-risk deliveries, and reproductive health procedures, helping students develop essential competencies in obstetric and gynecological nursing.

Community Health Nursing Laboratory
Prepares students for public health roles by teaching community assessment, family health care, disease prevention, and health education strategies.

Nursing Foundation Laboratory
Serves as a basic skills lab where students learn fundamental nursing procedures such as patient care, monitoring vital signs, infection control, and bed-making in a simulated clinical environment.
